Message from the Chancellor
Dear Colleagues, Learners,
Innovation and creativity have been subjects of major concern of the highest authorities
in Dubai Government for decades now. However, there is more that needs to be done
in terms of necessary infrastructure.
We at Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) still believe that:
- Our education systems need improvement in order to produce people who are inventors
and innovators.
- Our companies need to believe that the only way to increase productivity, quality
and profitability is through innovation.
- Our government needs to have consolidating branding strategy that differentiates
us from our competitors, where quality as a brand symbol of our country is nicely
positioned in the mind set of our people.
Profile
Dr. Mansoor Al Awar is currently the Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohamed e- University
and an Academician of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ). At the same time,
he was the Chairman of the Middle East Quality Association (MEQA) till Feb 2009.
Since 1997, he has been approved as an International Statistical Expert by the US
Department of Justice. At the national level, he has held the post of Chairman of
the Consultant Committee for TANMIA since 2003.
Dr. Mansoor is regarded as one of the prominent experts at education and e-learning,
benchmarking and best practice management, corporate performance measurement and
management, change management and business process re-engineering and all other
topics related to TQM as well.
Professor Randy Garisson, member of the jury panel of the Chancellor’s Award for Teaching and Learning has won this year Sloan Award for Most Outstanding Achievement in Online Learning by an Individual
