Message from the Chancellor

Dear Colleagues, Learners,

Innovation and creativity have been subjects of major concern of the highest authorities in Dubai Government for decades now. However, there is more that needs to be done in terms of necessary infrastructure.

We at Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) still believe that:

• Our education systems need improvement in order to produce people who are inventors and innovators.
• Our companies need to believe that the only way to increase productivity, quality and profitability is through innovation.
• Our government needs to have consolidating branding strategy that differentiates us from our competitors, where quality as a brand symbol of our country is nicely positioned in the mind set of our people.

Therefore, we need to stress the importance of spreading the culture of innovation. “That is because innovation is the heartbeat of modern economies. That is the reason why world’s most advanced economies are also the world’s most innovative.”

We, at HBMeU are trying our hardest to build an environment that inculcates a culture of innovation. HBMeU itself has been built from a blank sheet of paper. Through continuous support, commitment and pioneering ideas, HBMeU is well on its way to becoming the University of choice in the Middle East and around the world.

The founders of HBMeU, who I am proud to be a one of; have emphasized that all infrastructures must encourage creativity and innovation.

If you all recall, during the launching ceremony of HBMeU, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai, Patron of HBMeU, greatly expressed the importance of being number one which cannot be done without fostering creativity and innovation.

The drive for innovation will present itself with an opportunity to put HBMeU’s economic model on a more sustainable basis.

Moving our innovative agenda forward at HBMeU is going to be my message next.
